Altosur Torrontés is a highly expressive, aromatic dry white wine produced by the estate Finca Sophenia. The fruit is grown at a high elevation of 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) above sea level in the prestigious Gualtallary sub-region of Tupungato, located within Mendoza's Uco Valley in Argentina. The name "Altosur" translates to "high in the south," paying homage to its high-altitude, Southern Hemisphere terroir. This elevation provides cool night temperatures that preserve the wine's striking acidity and freshness, keeping the highly aromatic grape balanced and crisp. The Nose: Intensely aromatic, bursting with notes of white jasmine, rose petals, fuzzy peach skin, ripe apricot, and tropical hints of pineapple and citrus blossom. The Palate: Surprisingly structured, offering a broad, mouth-filling texture. It balances rich stone fruit with vibrant, tongue-tingling acidity and a clean, citrus-centric core.
